First year members Joe and Mike packing up for a 900+ mile drive home after a successful Midwest deer hunt with the Association.
Joe joined first and made a 3 day scouting trip during the off season to learn the lay of the land and became familiar with the maps and reservation system. Brother Mike joined several months later.
We recommended they hunt a region in north Missouri that has produced quality deer for decades. Four years ago the deer population in that range dropped due to years of liberal deer regulations, drought and EHD (a fatal virus to deer). All species of wildlife go through cycles and we feel the effects of the 2011-12 drought and EHD on the deer herd is behind us despite the rumors.
The hunting was tough but they hunted hard for 2 weeks straight and their hard work paid off. Above is Mike with a buck he took the last day of their trip. Congrats Joe and Mike hopefully we'll be working together for a long time!
Member Stuart with a well deserved buck. Congrats Stuart!
