Waterfowl

It’s hard to believe another waterfowl season is fast approaching the fourth quarter. We were extremely fortunate with the water levels entering the season. Often, we depend on fall rain to fill our managed wetlands but this year fall rain was non- existent. Thankfully 95% of our wetlands, ponds and lakes are full.

Pond Ice

Once the temps drop into the teens at night like predicted soon, conditions will be tough. Some of the best waterfowl hunting is late season when ice needs to be broken for open water. Breaking ice and hunting in frigid weather can be dangerous for both the hunter and dog. Please take caution and do not attempt to break ice or hunt water you are not absolutely certain of the depth.
