Quail
From Betsy and Scott,
Thanks so much for another great year of quail hunting!
Recently, we’ve had unseasonably hot weather but very timely rainfall in most of our regions. The cover is thick and the ponds and creeks are holding decent water so let’s cross our fingers for another successful upland bird hatch.
Good news for our pheasant hunters. While harvesting wheat, one of our ranchers reported a lot of both young and old pheasant.
Back Road Hazards
Below is a low water crossing we stumbled across driving the backroads in Nemaha County, KS. The black tool box gives you an idea how steep of a drop off this is, and there were no warning signs whatsoever. For those that are not familiar with the unmaintained road systems of the Midwest, be extremely careful driving the backroads your first couple of trips.
