Henry B Blind #4 Shooting Pool
We have a Backhoe Operator scheduled for the end of June to drain the blind #4 shooting pool in Henry, MO B. Our plans are to plant the mud flats in millet and weather permitting clean up and disc the west side and plant it also.
Henry B Wade-in #3
Last year we drained and planted the wade-in #3 pool three times and failed like everyone else in the Grand River and Big Creek bottoms.
First planting in 2017
We will open the drain pipe the same day we cut the dam east of the drop log pipe and use the backhoe to clean out the intake and drop log pipe. Our plans are to plant the mud flats in the wade-in #3 shooting pool once again this season.
Linn County, Missouri Wetland
The rain has jumped around our Linn County wetland since we drained the holding lakes in October. Since the holding lakes are low we are going to wait for a run off rain before we drain anything and plant. We have until the end of July to plant millet. The east marsh is a little low, but the entire west marsh is holding good water. Parsons Creek recently came out of its banks from a rain north of Meadville. The west marsh filled up, but the overflow didn’t get into the east marsh.
We caught a lot of nice bass, had to wait out some threatening weather but finally got on the water around 8:30 am. Fished until noon……. EXCELLENT fishing experience! All fish appeared to be very healthy and were very feisty fighters! All released to fight another day! Phil
The fishing pressure has been low this year, but we have a lot of spots to choose from. Now that the hot weather has set in the moss and shoreline vegetation is thick. Some of the ponds and lakes right now are not fishable from the shore but many still are.
