From 10-year member Tony; I will say it was a good season for me, overall. With me being a solo hunter, all my pics are just of the birds, so I didn’t know if that helps you guys or not.
Here it goes I was scheduled to be out west for 2 weeks I was started with the 2nd Iowa season which I have never been a part of, but it was the closest to the other 2 states openers. I arrived at the farm the first morning to 37 degrees and 30 mph winds and was very skeptical to say the least. But was rewarded 3 and a half hours later with a great Tom so I drove to Missouri Friday evening and waited for the opener on Monday. Monday morning came along, and I was fortunate to be right on some birds within the first 30 minutes of legal shooting light and had another good Tom on the ground. Tuesday, I headed to Kansas for the Wednesday opener and it was tough Wednesday and Thursday no birds but then got into some birds Friday. Saturday comes along and the day starts slow but then mid-morning I got lucky and got on another Tom and within a few hours had another good Tom on the ground. So, then I drove back to Missouri to wait for Monday to try to finish my tags out. I was lucky again and at first light right at fly down was fortunate to get my 5th Tom. So, I only hunted 7 days to fill 5 tags. I was one very happy and lucky hunter. When I say Thank you Jon, I truly mean Thank you. You and your family have been good to me over the years and I cannot Thank you enough for all you have done for me.
Good job Tony for another successful sweep. Your business has been greatly appreciated over the years!
