January 16, 2023 Update

Jon and Susie:

I just wanted to thank you both so much for the opportunity to enjoy another great season in the Mid-America Hunting Association. Again, this year I got too picky and focused on a buck that I knew was at least 5 1/2 years old. I saw him two times with my bow at 70 yards but he never provided an ethical shot opportunity.

I did get a chance to view many great 3 1/2 and 4 1/2-year-old bucks that will be next year’s contenders. This past weekend, I was able to harvest another doe and hope to get one more for the freezer before the season runs out. One of the 4 1/2-year-old bucks that I passed on in December bedded down in the field about 70 yards away from me this past weekend. He enjoyed his afternoon and I enjoyed watching him and thinking about how I hope to meet with him again next season.

I did get a chance to get a video clip of him walking through the field as well as being able to snap a picture of the doe I harvested this weekend which you will find attached.
