Waterfowl Food Plots
This spring and summer we have had more rainfall around our wetlands than we’ve seen in a long time. The rivers nearby have been in and out of their banks multiple times.
The landowner planted 10 acres of corn on the north side of the west marsh in Linn A. It flooded, and the corn was destroyed. This past weekend he planted 60-day milo so for now we’ll hope for some rain and cross our fingers for a good stand.
Henry A Winkler’s Lake finally drained down and we were able to plant the lakebed to Japanese millet.
Henry B Fisher’s Lake and the Wade-in 3 areas were also drained and planted to Japanese millet.
The remaining marshes and lakes are full with plenty of vegetation for teal season which is just around the corner.
