Waterfowl
Duck season in Missouri has been open for 2 weeks and it’s been slow, especially on our southern leases. Like everyone else in Missouri, we need some duck to move in and that can happen fast.

Young Ripley getting off to a good start.
As of 10 am Monday, all 14 Cass lakes have huntable water. Henry A pool 2 is full and pool 1 is half full with a good stand of Jap millet. Henry B Wade-in 1, 2, and blind 5 are huntable. Pools 3 and 4 need water and the intake gates are open. Henry D pools 1, 2, and 3 are full with a good stand of moist soil vegetation.
Linn A all pools are full and pools 6 and 7 have flooded milo and corn. All other pools have flooded moist soil vegetation.
A heavy majority of MAHA waterfowl usage is on the weekends. We encourage waterfowl hunters to take advantage of the weekdays, just like the deer hunters.
Let’s hope the rain that is in the forecast for today will top off the pools in Henry County.
