Upland Bird
So far it has been a good season my young dogs have found and pointed a few birds. The bird numbers are still down but seem to be recovering. The best news is the cover. The rain has been a real blessing that will pay dividends next year and beyond.
I attached a couple of photos of my young setters. My 1 1/2-year-old LC got several points and retrieves.

My 6-month-old Ike got to point his first cock twice. Initially pointed the bird and after the shot found the bird in a clump of grass and pointed as the bird was not fully dead (shooter’s fault).

Thanks for providing good land for the hunt, Don
Don’s been hunting with us for 14 years and has seen the highs and lows of the upland bird cycles. We wish Don the best of luck with Ike and LC in the future. It appears they are both well on their way!
