Upland Bird
This was my third year in the association and my best year yet. We found birds on each hunt and had very few slow days. While my first two seasons were very good, a couple years of experience has made results much more consistent. Thanks for all you and Susie do to provide quality private land access.
My observations this season were that the pheasant numbers are still down considerably compared to my first season in the association. Numbers might be slightly better than last season, but hunting was tough. Having said that, Dad and I did shoot a two-man limit of pheasants as we hit the right cover just as a front was blowing through, and all the birds in that piece of cover must have been stacked up where we were hunting.
Overall a great year and I’m already looking forward to turkey season and next fall’s upland bird season.
