We opened the drainpipes on both the north and south wade-in areas in Henry B. Inevitably some form of mother nature will attempt to disrupt the water flow, but we’ll just have to hope for the best. Our plans are to broadcast Japanese millet on the mud flats.

The overflow pipe in Henry D was holding too much water and killing some of the oak trees along the shoreline. We took advantage of the lakebed being drained down and cut 5 inches off the overflow pipe. We have a decent stand of volunteer millet and smartweed that should produce good feed for the ducks this fall.
